In the Vineyard
Another rollercoaster of a year as an extremely wet winter morphed into the warmest summer on record while
successive waves of humidity challenged us along with a couple of tropical cyclones. Nevertheless, our grapes proved to be remarkably resilient moving into veraison a couple of weeks earlier than usual. We netted in the third week of January to protect the fruit from the ravenous birds who swoop in at the first sign of colour.
Our vineyard team did their usual meticulous job of creating an open vine canopy by removing excess foliage to allow air movement to dry the fruit and allow sunlight penetration. Only perfect bunches were then picked by hand starting in the third week of March.
In the Winery
Made from our Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this complex blend balances lush fruit with a firm framework. The grapes were pressed, left on the skins for a short time to achieve the desired colour and flavour profile, then vinified at cool temperatures. Stop-fermentation achieved an exceptional fruit/acid/sugar balance in this wine.
A very fragrant, fresh bouquet with hints of thyme and rosemary. The palate is crisp and lively with flavours of summer and winter berry fruits, plum and red cherry. A citrus lift and floral layers add to the complex flavour profile.
A finely tuned layer of acidity, elements of sherbet and a fine velveteen texture create a wine of great balance and length.
Ageing potential: As with most rosés, this wine is designed to drink over the summer following harvest. However, ageing accentuates the dried fruit characters. Enjoy chilled with a wide variety of summer food flavours, or simply as a refreshing aperitif from now through to 2020.

Plush, fresh, soft, very fragrant and alluring bouquet. On the palate - lively, very fresh, deliciously fruity and just dry on the finish. Flavours of plum, strawberry and red cherry and flowers - easily a rose note, great layer of acidity with a fine satin texture and lengthy finish. Great balance and length. Drink now and through 2020.
